Communication with Home

Reception

The majority of calls to school staff are routed through Reception on 01692 580281.   From there, your call will be directed to the member of staff most suitable to answer your question(s).

Reception is open from 8.00am until 3.45pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.15pm on Friday.  Outside of these hours, there is a voicemail facility.  Additionally, you are able to email your queries to office@stalhamhigh.org.uk.  This mailbox is monitored all year round.

Please note that it may not always be possible to speak with a member of staff immediately – our teachers teach during the day and our Student Managers are very often busy with students.  If you require help with an urgent matter that, for example, involves a child’s safety or is about transport from school on a particular day, then please contact the school office in the first instance.  We aim to provide a full reply to concerns within 72 hours (for non-safeguarding items).

Friday Bulletin

The best way of keeping up-to-date with all things Stalham High School is our Friday Bulletin and our Facebook page. We send out occasional individual communications, but mass correspondence is generally shared via the Bulletin. That way, we don't bombard you with communication you may not need.

Past issues of our Friday Bulletin can be found on our website, here: Friday Bulletin

Arbor

We use Arbor to communicate with our Parents and Carers.  For parents of our new Year 7 students, you will receive a link to register for Arbor during the second half of the Summer term, prior to their start date.  This enables us to share any important information with you regarding the students' return in September.

For in-year admissions, parents and carers will be set up on Arbor as soon as your child/children are enrolled.

We use Arbor:-

  • To send all communications to parents/carers, including those regarding trips;

  • To contact parents of students who are absent from school without us having been notified

  • To communicate with parents/carers in the event of school closure

  • For our Parents' Evenings (appointment booking system)

  • For payments, i.e. dinner top-ups, trips, ties, replacement Student Planners, replacement locker keys, revision guides, art equipment, etc

  • To set homework.  This can be viewed by both parents and students;

  • To record student behaviour events, both positive and negative

  • To record student attendance

  • To publish student progress reports

Microsoft Forms

From time to time, it may be necessary to send you an online form for completion. This may be  to obtain additional consent for out of County trips, consent for students to represent the school at various events and such like.
